Amidst Amess

Amidst Orchids

Why do you mourn? For
The big maple’s leaves. Fallen
In this beautiful autumn. Be great
Toward the world’s source of life.

Does it get colder? Your heart
Grows older. The sparkling
Evening comes sooner. Tangling
With bikers with lights.

Thank you. They say
Every time they pass by. Strong
Feet will walk the path. Ride
With a bag of knowledge.

P.S. Amess is a name of a street. Inspired by “The Man in the Ocelot Suite” by Christopher Brookhouse.

  1. Hi there, I found your website from mixx. It’s not something I would typically read, but I loved your spin on it. Thanks for making a piece worth reading!
